What you should know about Ashburton Christian School
Ashburton Christian School had its beginnings in the work of Keith and Rosemary Townshend who initiated proceedings in 2005. This eventually led to the establishment of the Ashburton Christian Schools Trust ACST which implemented the vision for a Christian School in Ashburton. With the support of other Christian schools and private donors ACS was well resourced in buildings and teaching materials from its first day. Upon integration in 2011 the ACST handed over operation of the school to the first board of trustees who are under the proprietorship of the Christian Schools Trust CST in Christchurch
We deliver a vibrant, stuffed curriculum with all the subjects of a state school but with the heart beat of God and his Word. They produce the motivation and context for what we teach on a day to day basis.
There is a junior and senior playground and the beginning stage of a fitness course. Relationships Christian teachers in a Christian school can call on God’s wisdom openly to address the heart issues children face and model Christ to the young people, preparing them for the challenges of life. In it you will find details of our long term goals and annual strategic aims. Our school academic goals and behavioral expectations also align with these statements.
With the urge of other Christian schools and private donors ABS was well resourced in buildings and teaching materials from its beginning day. A homestead has been extensively refurbished as the istration block, staff room and music room. A parent’s calling God instructed parents to train children in his ways Proverbs 22 6 and to grasp the world as it truly is. For all new applicants, an interview is held with the principal including their children.

There is a focus on grouping children according to need rather than age and teachers plan groups as a team.
